The Beeches turns dining room into Italian Restaurant for special evening meal

Since lockdown our residents have missed out on a lot of their usual Summer activities like cream teas at the seaside; meals out, cinema trips and beach days – and we don’t like to see them missing out on anything if we can help it. 

While we sadly cannot transport them to their favourite places at this time, we thought it was important to give them memorable and unique experiences within the home. So when our residents mentioned they were missing going out for a meal, we thought we’d bring the restaurant to them. 

Our staff worked feverishly to turn The Beeches in East Harling into a delightful little slice of Venice.  We wanted to create an atmosphere of carefree Summer holidays so we transformed the dining room into a traditional Italian restaurant complete with a brand new menu, tailored to our residents tastes and diets. 

When our residents had finished eating their luxurious meal, they exclaimed: “Can we do this every day?”. 

We’re really pleased that they enjoyed it, and we’re very proud of our staff team at The Beeches who made this magical night happen. From our activities coordinator Marie, and home manager Kayleigh, through all our carers who helped decorate, and to our amazing kitchen team who changed their entire menu to make this a wonderful Italian experience.
