We try to encourage our residents to take part in new and interesting activities, and experience new things which they may have never experienced before. Throughout lockdown our residents at The Haven have been transported around the world exploring the culture, history, food and music of other countries. Since March they’ve visited America, Italy and Australia – all from the comfort of their own home.
September 16th marks Mexican Independence Day, so it only seemed natural for Mexico to be the next destination our residents got the chance to experience.
Staff put in an amazing effort to decorate the home from top to bottom with Mexican flags and decorations synonymous with fiesta! Throughout the day our residents took part in Mexico themed activities including quizzes, games, and discovering famous people from that country.
Not only that, but our kitchen team also created a menu of burritos, nachos, salads and sweet potato fries which was served for lunch.
It was a wonderful afternoon with good music, good food and good company.
We’re incredibly proud of our staff for continually finding unique and fun ways to keep our residents entertained throughout 2020. You are all amazing.
