Laurel Lodge is a beautiful, large Victorian house in the leafy area of Ipswich Road in Norwich, converted into a residential care home. We provide short-term, respite care and longer term care and support at the home.
One of four Black Swan homes in Norwich, the home provides care and support for up to 32 residents. The comfortable bedrooms are situated around the home. All rooms benefit from en-suite bathrooms and there are also large, separate communal lounges, a dining room, hair salon and adapted bathrooms.
Outside there are beautiful, accessible gardens complete with paved walkways, a patio area with seating, raised flowerbeds, and a stunning collection of roses giving it the atmosphere of a traditional manor garden. We enjoy using our garden for barbecues and outdoor events for our residents, their families and friends and the local community.
Residents have the option to eat in the dining room or in the comfort of their own rooms if they choose. Laurel Lodge has a fun-filled activities schedule with all of our entertainment being tailored to our residents likes and interests. Being person-centred is at the heart of everything we do, and we believe it is important to know our residents and what matters to them, to provide the true atmosphere of home whilst they are in our care.
Laurel Lodge has been rated ‘Good Overall’ by the Care Quality Commission in its latest inspection.
Norwich city centre
Laurel Lodge is located close to Norwich City College, and close to the city centre. There are also a number of independent cafes and shops just a short distance away. Our trusted staff are always on hand to assist our residents if they would like to go out but require a little extra support.
Our residents often enjoy shows at Norwich’s Theatre Royal, where Black Swan are a sponsor for their accessible performances. We also support them to enjoy shopping trips, meals at different restaurants and cafes, and trips to the historic Norwich Market.
As well as all the modern conveniences of a city, Norwich is a hub of culture and history, with museums, art galleries and riverside walks. Our care team are keen to enable residents to experience the rich history of the area.
